Sohrab Lutchmedial obtained his biology degree from Queens University and then his medical degree from McGill University in 1993. He further trained in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at McGill. He was certified as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine (1996) and in Cardiology (1999). He completed subspecialty training in Interventional Cardiology at l’Université de Montréal in 2001.
Sohrab is the director of the Interventional Cardiology program at the New Brunswick Heart Centre, sits on the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke board and is the Atlantic representative for the Canadian Association of Interventional Cardiologists. Dr. Lutchmedial is co-founder of the outcomes research group CoVeR-NB (www.cvrnb.ca) and a founding member of the IMPART research cooperative (https://impart.team/). He acts as Editor-in-Chief of the New Brunswick Heart Centre newsletter ‘Heartbeat’ and creates medical teaching videos for the New Brunswick Heart Centre patient population. His research interests include Acute Coronary Syndromes, adolescent cardiac risk factors and disease, and coronary physiology. He speaks both French and English.
