Interventional Cardiologist

Dr. Jaroslav Hubacek joined the New Brunswick Heart Centre in 2009. He obtained his medical degree from The Commenius University in the Slovak Republic in 1997. Subsequently Dr. Hubacek successfully finished his Master of Science degree from the National University of Singapore in 2000. After his arrival to Canada, he started his career as post-doctoral fellow at the University of Calgary, where he also completed his Internal Medicine training. Dr. Hubacek’s core cardiology fellowship brought him to the Maritimes. After successful completion of the cardiology training at Dalhousie University he obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine (2006) and Cardiology (2008). He further specialized in interventional cardiology at the University of Calgary. During his formal training Dr. Hubacek continued his research interests in vascular biology and outcome research with APPROACH group. His clinical interests include Invasive Hemodynamic Assessment of CAD (FFR, iFR), Intravascular Coronary Imaging (IVUS, OCT), Complex Coronary Intervention and Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) Intervention.
